Doctors, Lawyers,and Disability Benefit Claims

Establishing the support of a treating source physician is an important part of the disability application process. This is especially true when a claim is based on chronic pain, fatigue, or mental problems. Because so many of my clients depend on their physicians to validate these types of allegations, I decided to submit this article to the Tennessee Medicine Association explaining to doctors the legal and procedural issues underlying their patients' disability claims. My hope is that this article will help more physicians understand the reasons why their support is so critical for their disabled patients' disability claims.
